Two New Additions (Well, One Not So New)
We are excited to announce two new faces to Neighborhood Pharmacy.

Oraly Spatz is our new pharmacy technician. She is a local Del Ray resident and senior at George Mason University. Oraly is a native Spanish speaker from Nicaragua and promises to teach us all Spanish. She hopes to go into cancer research when she graduates next fall.

Gina Skubick is our new pharmacy intern – here with us for 1 month. Gina currently attends The(!) Ohio State University and will graduate in June 2011. She is intending to work for one of those big chains when she graduates. We are hoping to change her mind.

McNeil Product Recall

As most of you have heard, McNeil has recalled all lots of most of their Children and Infants’ Tylenol, Motrin, Zyrtec and Benadryl products. They are offering reimbursement for these recalled products through either a product coupon or a product refund. All you need to do is fill out your contact information, and then enter the product information (including product name, NDC, lot number and expiration date) on the McNeil website. We linked the website where you can submit your refund requests below.
Once you submit your claim(s), feel free to swing by and drop off your recalled products where we can safely dispose of them!
We also are carrying generic equivalents of the affected medicine, which you can buy to take care of your children in the meantime!
Thanks,
Stacey, Barbara and Allyson
Spring for Alexandria
Hello – Allyson here – Today I had the privilege of helping out Volunteer Alexandria’s “Spring for Alexandria” event for Del Ray. We spruced up the planting beds around the Farmer’s Market parking lot (also the lot for Dr. Stone, DDS) as well as a few tree beds lining the street. I hope you enjoy the photos – I know we had fun helping out!

Weekend Fun
Weekends at the Neighborhood Pharmacy look slightly different than our run-of-the-mill weekdays. Here’s what you might find when visiting on the weekend…
Our Pharmacy Mom: Every six weeks (give or take) Stacey’s mom, Karen, comes down from New Jersey for the weekend, and is shamelessly put to work.

Our Up-and-Coming Technician: Max, the 4-year-old flatcoat retriever (mix) joins Stacey and Barabara on Sundays as our newest Technician-in-training. He enjoys treats, belly rubs, and long walks around the neighborhood.

Pharmacy Intern Joins for the Month of March
Kristi, a senior at the Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, joins us in the pharmacy this month as our intern. She’ll be graduating this June with her Doctorate of Pharmacy. We are happy to find out she is an avid dog lover (she may even bring in Naia, an adorable chihuahua/papillon mix some day!) We look forward to introducing her to our wonderful community, so come on by and meet her!

Until next time,
Stacey, Barbara, and Allyson (and Kristi too!)
